The goalIntroduction to the principles of chemical equilibrium. Studying the properties of the chemical elements and their compounds depending on the position in the Periodic Table.
The outcomeThe Learning Outcomes for General Chemistry II are: to understand the concepts of chemical equilibrium; to understend the properties of chemical elements and their compounds taking into account fundamental chemical principles, Periodic Table, electronic configuration, the size of the atom and the type of chemical bonds; to perrform laboratory experiments demonstrating safe and proper use of standard chemistry glassware and equipment.
      Contents
Contents of lecturesFundamentals of chemical equilibrium. Equilibrium in homogeneous systems. Equilibrium in electrolyte solutions: acids, bases and salts. Equilibrium between the solution and solid phase. Types of chemical reactions. Coordination compounds. Oxidation and reduction reactions. Studying the properties of the chemical elements and their compounds regarding their position in the Periodic Table.
Contents of exercisesChemical equilibrium in homogeneous systems. Ionic equilibria. Solubility product. Familiarizing with the properties of important elements and their compounds.
