Research

The Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy of the University of Belgrade is accredited for performing scientific and research activities, and today it represents a leading scientific and research institution engaged in research within the scope of Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Metallurgy, Biotechnology and Food, Environmental Protection and Textile Engineering, in line with the Strategy of Scientific and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia.

Scientific and research activities are performed at the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy of the University of Belgrade within a large number of projects funded by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia. The Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy has been leading or participating in more than 50 projects within the scope of Basic Research, Technological Development, Interdisciplinary and Innovation projects. The Faculty staff has formerly lead or participated in more than 20 EUREKA projects, whose participation in international consortium was approved by the EUREKA office, and the financial support  provided by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia.

Research within the international projects is simultaneously performed  at the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy, as well. Formerly, the Faculty has participated in or completed many international projects regarding the projects funded or coordinated by the European Commission, within the framework of FP6, FP7 and TEMPUS calls. The Faculty staff leads or participates in the projects approved and funded by other international organizations, such as:

•       NATO - The Science for Peace and Security Programme,
•       Swiss National Science Foundation, the SCOPES Programme,
•      The Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the calls for HERD and HERD/ENERGY,
•       Qatar National Research Fund, and
•       Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency – SIDA

Currently, the faculty is involved in 11 active international projects. These projects also foster the exchange of young researchers and the visits, trainings and study visits of our professors and researchers to the international scientific and research institutions, which is of a great importance for education of our researchers.

During the past few years, thanks to the support provided by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia and the European Commission, the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy has obtained significant capital equipment and thus, improved its research level and quality.

It should be underlined that from 1996 to 2015, the professors and associates of the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy and Innovation Centre, have published more than 2300 SCI list works, together with publishing in the professional journals of the highest rank, such as Nature Materials, ACS NANO, Energy and Environmental Science, Nature Communications, Nano Energy, Carbon and other.
