The goalThe course consists of fundamentals of glass technology. The structure, glassy state, properties and applications of glasses are presented during the course. The students gain knowledge on avoiding and/or control of crystallization processes in glass. They learn about thermodynamic basis and mechanisms for phase separation. Students analyze the properties of glass materials and define the processes of obtaining the materials of certain properties. They are introduced to commercial and special glass materials.
The outcomeKnowledge of structure, properties and obtaining of commercial and special glasses. Students will be able to understand the production of phase separated glasses of different use. The students are introduced to relation of composition, structure, properties and application of glasses.
