      The goalThe aim of this course is to introduce students to new practical approaches and technologies used by microbial processes, the importance of microorganisms as environmental factors and their role in the process of remediation.
      The outcomeThrough mastering the course to be learning about the complexity of microbial processes in the field of environment and skills to predict the future state of the ecosystem.

      Contents of lecturesGeneral concepts of microbial communities and the concept of mixed cultures, bioindicator species, the test organisms in ecotoxicology. ; Possibilities of application of microorganisms in different technologies. ; The accumulation of metals in cells of different species of microorganisms. ; Bioremediation, the use of different microorganisms and their potential remediation processes that are important for ecological engineering. ; Types of bioremediation, bioremediation monitoring. ; Model biotechnological applications of microorganisms in environmental protection, the treatment of biological waste. ; Existing regulations in the country and the world.
