      The goalStudies in this field make a student capable of quality, scientific, research and independent improvement of this field, with particular emphasis on environmental protection. The student get information on the materials of exceptional properties for new technologies, to be applied for special purposes such as space technology, biomedicine, stomatology, electronics, pharmacy, food industry, etc.
      The outcomeThe student that has passed the exam is qualified to analyze and formulate complex problems encountered by any engineer, as well as to offer solution for updating of the processes or finished goods. He will be skilled in communication and able to formulate the problem clearly, to solve imposed tasks and to present the results obtained – both independently, and as a part of a team.

      Contents of lecturesThis subject informs a student on packing materials for special purposes. ; Teaching units are: materials used for special-purpose packing materials; design of the technology and production of special-purpose packing materials; quality control of special-purpose packing materials and procedure for issue of certificates; production processes and production of packing materials at extreme temperatures, humidity and radioactive radiation; packing materials for packing and storage of dangerous materials; packing materials in pharmaceutical industry; limiting properties and production of packing materials under sterile conditions; special-purpose packing materials for food industry; labelling and getting information on international standards for packing materials, transport and storage of goods packed in special-purpose packing materials. ; As a part of the programme of exercises, the student independently works on technological project related to concrete example from practice.
