| The goal | The goals of the course are to introduce students to the basic and advanced knowledge of oils and fats technology. | |||

| Contents of lectures | The importance of oils and fats. Classification of oils and fats. Composition and characteristics of individual fats and oils. Storage and quality evaluation of oil and raw materials. Drying and cleaning of seeds. Pretreatment of seeds. Seeds pressing. Extraction of oil. Oil cake. Oil refining. Oil storage. Hydrogenation of oils. Manufacture of vegetable fat and margarine. Production of fatty acids, glycerol and soap. Production of biodiesel. | |||
