The goalLearning basic concepts of cell physiology, human physiology ; and epidemiological factors.
The outcomeBasic knowledge on the biology and physiology of plant and animal cells as the basis of human biology and physiology. Linking these findings with influential factors of technology ; (biotechnology, pharmaceutical technology) and environmental factors on the functioning of biological systems with positive and negative aspects.
    Contents
Contents of lecturesGeneral physiology of cell - cell and biomolecules. The base structure of plant and animal cells. Transport mechanisms of small and large molecules through the cytoplasmic membrane - passive transport, facilitated transport, active transport, memebranski electric potential and ion channels, energy production and metabolism, endocytosis, phagocytosis, exocytosis. Cell cycle, cell division. ; Basics of human physiology - Organising cells into tissues and organs. Homeostasis as a constant anatomical or physiological parameters within the body. Thermal balance and thermoregulation. Acid-base homeostasis ; Physiology of the Digestive System - nutrition and digestion. ; Endocrine System - General characteristics of hormones, the role of hormones, types of glands, glands attached to the digestive system. ; Physiology of blood - plasma, hematopoiesis, blood cells, blood coagulation, hemostasis. ; Immunity - components of the immune system, natural and acquired immunity, active and passive immunity, non-specific and specific immune mechanisms. ; Detoxification - physiology of the respiratory and urinary systems ; Physiology of the skin - skin structure, physiological functions of the skin, the skin as a barrier. ; Epidemiology - Basic concepts of epidemiology, epidemiological factors.
Contents of exercisesGetting to know the structure and properties of cells. Practical classes with the use of a microscope. The observation of different types of cells of different origins. Observation and study of appropriate histological preparations.
