      The goal1. Introducing to the fundamental knowledge of the metal corrosion thermodynamics. ; 2. Acquiring the basic knowledge necessary to understand the kinetics and mechanisms of chemical and electrochemical reactions that take place in ; corrosion of metals. ; 3. Familiarizing students with different types of metal corrosion and influence of external and internal factors on the kinetics and mechanism of corrosion processes . ; 4. Acquiring the basic knowledge necessary for the implementation of appropriate corrosion-resistant construction materials in practical conditions. ;
      The outcomeStudent has mastered the fundamental knowledge of metal corrosion thermodynamics and acquired the knowledge necessary to understand the kinetics and mechanisms of chemical and electrochemical reactions that take place in the corrosion of metals. By the knowledge of the different forms of metal corrosion and the influence of external and internal factors on the kinetics and mechanism of corrosion processes, student gains the basis for the understanding of the various forms of corrosion of metals and alloys that can occur in practice and the application of appropriate construction materials resistant to corrosion.
      Contents
      Contents of lectures1) Thermodynamic aspects of chemical and electrochemical corrosion of metals, ; 2) Kinetics of chemical and electrochemical reactions that take place in the corrosion process with special reference to the impact of external and internal factors on the corrosion rate of metals, ; 3) study of local forms of corrosion of metals and alloys and the conditions under which local forms of corrosion damage occurr. ; 4) Study of electrochemical and chemical passivation of metals and alloys ; . ;
