The goalThe aim of the course is to familiarize students with science and engineering adhesives and sealants that are used in various industries and in medicine and dentistry. They will be introduced to the most important natural, synthetic and biological adhesives, method of synthesis, characterization and the most important applications.
The outcomeStudents acquire knowledge of the basic principles of adhesion-theories of adhesion and adhesion mechanisms, as well as of the structure, properties and methods of synthesis. Manufacturing technology of adhesives and sealants: materials, processes, and equipment. Based on this knowledge they are able to make effective selection of adhesives and sealants for the desired application, and to select and apply procedures to obtain optimal adhesives and sealants.
