The goalTo introduce students to theory of phase diagrams and their importance in Inorganic Chemical Technology. To master the graphical analysis of the following processes: melting, vaporization, dissolution and crystallization in phase diagrams of multicomponent multiphase systems. To apply the phase diagrams in establishing the material balance.
The outcomeStudents gain knowledge about the fundamental types of phase diagrams and phase equilibrium in one–, two– and threecomponent systems. Students are able to follow the processes such as melting, vaporization, dissolution and crystallization in phase diagrams of the real systems in Inorganic Chemical Technology. Students are having preknowledge to quantitavely and qualitatively control the appearance of a certain phases in multicomponent, multiphase systems.
