The goalThe aim of the course is learning methodologies, principles, selection and application of methods, criteria and models in the identification of process. Also, the aim is learning the basic principles of the design process of automatic process control in chemical industry.
The outcomeStudents will be trained in the selection and application of methods, criteria and models in the identification of process. They will learn the basic principles of design of the automatic control, will be trained to work in automated industrial process plants, prepared to work in teams for choosing the necessary equipment for system control, as well as for the design of safety instrumental systems which can be controlled and regulated industrial processes.
Contents of lecturesTheoretical principles and practical application of methods, models and criteria for the control and regulation of industrial processes are studied. ; Experimental identification of process (Methods and the choice of methods for experimental identification. The method of step response and approximation process with system of the first order and second order with time delay. Approximation of the process model without introducing a delay element). ; Technical conditions and criteria for assessing the quality of control system behavior. (The criteria for assessing the quality of system behavior in time, complex and frequency domain). ; Synthesis of simple control loop. (The choice of transducer - the transmitter. Selection of the actuating element - the choice of the control valve sizing and synthesis of the desired static characteristics. Choosing the type of controllers P, PI, PD, and PID. System control of the level, flow, pressure and temperature. A complex system - cascade control, ratio control and regulation of the rectification column). ; Synthesis of control loop with desired dynamic characteristics. (Synthesis of closed loop by changing of gain in open loop or synthesis their respective compensator. Synthesis compensator using root locus diagram). ; The principles of designing control system. (Preparation of project documentation: technological schemes, functional schemes and scheme mergers. Symbols and signs used in the technological and functional schemes. Projecting using a PC).
