    The goalAdoption and implementation of the concepts and principles of sustainable development, harmonization of technological changes in Serbia with ecological principles and policies of social balance. Sustainability of modern economic structure with the processes which are economically, socially and ecologically harmonized and acceptable among all generations. Sustainable development, as an answer to economic and technological challenges for environment and natural resources. Realization of sustainable development strategies in the EU and Serbia - policy, measures and laws, with a view to meeting macroeconomic, social and ecological objectives in accordance with possible, science-based, democratically adopted principles and solutions
    The outcomeAnalytic competences of students in judging the necessary harmonization of development trends and objectives in all economic, social and technical dimensions. Sustainability regards the ecological consequences as well as the use of renewable and non-renewable resources.

    Contents of lecturesSustainable development - concept evolution, basic principles and notion of inter-generation justice. Three pillars and three areas of sustainable development: knowledge-based economy, harmonized social system, protection of resources and environment. Technological changes, global market, globalization and sustainable development. Renewable and non-renewable resources, sustainable production and consumption in industry, transportation, agriculture... Sustainable development concepts: National Strategy for Sustainable Development of the Republic of Serbia - basic elements, objectives and possibilities for realization - local, national, European and global dimension
    Contents of exercisesContent analysis of the texts and documents on sustainable development in Serbia. Calculation of externalities - current and future price of resources. Energy and material efficiency analysis. Examples of good industry practice in accordance with the principles of sustainable development.
