The goalObjective is to introduce students to oil refining technology, key refinery processes i ctalytic processes in modern referies. Also, students are taught basic knowledge within heterogeneous catalysis and its application in petrochemistry.
The outcomeAfter this course students are familiar with processing concepts of oil refining, key refinery processes, catalytic processes and basic aspects of heterogeneous catalysis.
        Contents
Contents of lecturesOil refining and block diagram of modern oil refinery; Conversion and catalytic processes; catalytic cracking, thermal cracking and coking, hydrocracking, hydrotreating, catalytic reforming, isomerisation, alkylation and oligomerization; Heterogeneous catalysis and refinery catalysts; Types of refining catalysts; Catalyst characterization; Refinery reactors for catalytic processes
