The goalTo introduce students to the theory of electrolyte solutions and thermodynamic properties of the salt systems present in nature and production and processing of inorganic salts. Students gain knowledge about traditional and newest models for prediction and calculation of activity coefficients of multicomponent electrolyte solutions. An assignment enables a student to process and calculate data on the thermodynamic properties of electrolyte solutions using various thermodynamic models for the treatment of data.
The outcomeThis course gives an introduction to basic knowledge of electrolyte solution theory and the application of traditional and newest models of thermodynamic properties of multicomponent electrolyte solutions. Students are introduced further, to experimental techniques of determining activity coefficients and the ways and methods of processing the experimental and literature data in the theory of electrolyte solutions.
