The goalThe students become acquainted with the basic principles of systematic study of organic synthesis, as well as with basic synthetic reactions. The study of classical and new synthetic methods of constructing the carbon skeleton, as well the introduction and transformation of functional groups and stereochemical control is present in the course.
The outcomeThe students are enabled for the independent research work in organic synthesis. The acquired knowledge for successful planning and realization of organic synthesis.
      Contents
Contents of lecturesBasic principles of organic synthesis from detailed retro synthetic planning, over development with different synthetic reactions, till the aim that is a pure product in the highest possible yield, with specific stereochemical properties if necessary. Synthetic reactions mostly consist of carbon skeleton construction, the introduction and transformation of functional groups and stereochemical control.
Contents of exercisesIn the study research work the synthesis of a complex organic compound is presented.
