The goalCourse should provide: Consideration of the role of engineers in measuring and process control in metallurgy. Acquisition of basic theoretical knowledge of the process dynamics and theory of process control. • Consideration of the basic practical aspects of process control in the metalurgical industry. • Practical application of mathematical tools necessary to examine the dynamics of system design and process control. • Opportunities to use modern software tools such as MATLAB to solve practical engineering problems related to measuring and process control.
The outcomeAfter completing this course, students will be able to: prepare for work in automated metallurgical plants; engage in specialized teams to design a control system for metallurgical plants; prepare for the monitoring of senior courses in process dynamics and control.
    Contents
Contents of lectures• Introduction - Definition, Characteristics and requirements for control of technological processes; basic elements of control, presentation of control systems; principle of control configuration with negative feedback. • Process as an object control system: basic definitions and basic dynamic processes • Linear dynamic models: differential equations, transfer functions, block diagrams • The dynamics of simple systems: the proportional element of systems I and II, with a pure delay element, a capacitive element, the element differential systems of higher order system response time • • • Experimental frequency response of the identification process. 1 Instrumentation: • Basic types and items of equipment • Measuring units - Transmitter (principles of measuring flow, pressure, level, temperature and concentration in metallurgy) • executable elements in metallurgy (valves and pumps) • Regulators 2 Control configuration with negative feedback (closed regulatory circuit) • conventional controllers (P, PI, PD, PID) • dynamic characteristics of RK • RK stability analysis • Selection and design of conventional regulator RK 3 Some practical aspects of metallurgical processes: • Choice of control and manipulation of variables; management scheme for some simple systems • Restrictions simple control system with negative feedback and the need for more complex configurations
