The goalIntroduction to adjustement of composite materials for specific demands. Adjustements of properties by choice of matrix and reinforcement and processing. Trough sпecific chosen functional materials students will gain knoledge about synthesis of composite materials having specific properties.
The outcomeThe student will be able to chose how by chosing the composition, synthesis route could a materials with functional properties be produced. Special knoledge will concern the production of multifucntional composite materials.
      Contents
Contents of lecturesRole of matrix and reinforcement in composites. Properties of composites and possibilities for their adjustment by choice of matrix, reinforcement and interphase. Wear resistant composites, composites with improved strength and hardness. High temperature composites. Conductive composite materials and gradient properties composite materials. Dielectric and magnetic composite materials. Thermochromatic composites. Composites in energy conservation and storage. Biomedical composite materials. Nanocomposite materials. Composites for impact resistance. Multifunctional composite materials in cultural heritage preservation.
Contents of exercisesTrough a seminar work the students will have insight among structure, properties and synthesis of a selected functional composite materials.
