The goalThe objective of the course is to acquaint students with the basics of membrane science, the types of membrane separation processes, the characteristics of membranes and membrane modules. Through a detailed presentation of selected membrane separation techniques and hybrid techniques, students are trained in the analysis, design and development of membrane processes for water treatment and wastewater treatment. The second part of the course is concerning advanced oxidation processes in drinking water treatment and wastewater treatment.
The outcomeBy completing the planned program with preparation of seminarс, students acquire the expertise to analyze and use existing and develop new membrane techniques and advanced oxidation processes in water treatment and wastewater treatment..
      Contents
Contents of lecturesThe course introduces students to the general principles of modern membranology, the classification of membrane processes and their application in practice. The course program covers the basics of membranology and then the review and analysis of membrane separation techniques. Non-photochemical and photоchemical advanced oxidation processes are presented and most commonly used in practice and suitable for rapid development are analyzed in more detail.
