The goalThe main goal is to enable students to use biochemical methods for identification and quantitative determination the most important biological molecules, which are prerequisite for biochemical processes monitoring. Students will be able to apply methods for determination of vitamins, carbohydrates and protein concentration; monitoring enzymatic transformation of biological molecules, performing enzyme activity assays and determining kinetic constants.
The outcomeSUpon the course completion students will be able to apply techniques and methods that are used in biotechnological laboratory. During the course students gain practical knowledge needed for detection and quantification of bioactive cell compounds (vitamins, proteins and DNA) and their further identification and characterization. Moreover, students will learn how to analyze, interpret and present experimental data.
