      The goalEnabling students to connect their previously acquired engineering knowledge in the field of unit operations and bioprocess engineering with the different operations and processes in wastewater treatment.
      The outcomeStudents gain knowledge in the field of processing and wastewater disposal with practical examples of lines design for the treatment of municipal and industrial wastewater and sewage sludge.
      Contents
      Contents of lecturesThe course provides the necessary knowledge about the origin and quality of the wastewater, the necessary conditions that must be done prior to discharge of wastewater into the recipient. During the course, students introduce different methods of primary, secondary and tertiary treatment, and their arrangement in a speccial treatment line. The courses are taught basic physical, chemical and biological processes to remove pollutants from water, the calculated line processing and acquire basic knowledge in the design of facilities for treatment of waste water, including sewage sludge.
      Contents of exercisesSolving concrete examples that follow the theoretical teaching ; ; Visits to facilities for the treatment of municipal wastewater ;
