    The goalLearning about quality generaly, and about quality of printed products. Training the student to use modern methods of quality control in prinitng production. Learning about fundamentals of organization and standardization, generaly and particulary in prinitng industry. Training the student to participate in preparing the printing house for certification according to ISO standards and PSo procedure.
    The outcomeStudent gained fundamental knowledge about standardizaton, organization and quality. Student can use modern methods of quality control, to organize printing prioduction and to participate in preparaton for certification according to ISO and PSO graphic standards.
    Contents of lecturesQuality basics. Classification of quality characteristics. Internal and external qulity control. Historical development of internal quality control. Quality management. Quality characteristics of graphic products. Measuring methods in the printing quality control. Automatic presetting of the printing press and prinitng quality control. Definition of organization. Organization theory: classic, functional, mo0dern theories. Organizational structure: functional, division, matrix. Organization of departments in printing house. Organization of typical printing houses and packaging material factories. Standardization basics. ISO organization. ISO 9000.. PSO certification. Review of the ISO 12647 series of standards. Other certification methods (GRACOL, SWOP).
    Contents of exercisesCalculation exercises. Practical excercises. Visiting the printing house. Case studies.
