      The goalThe goal of the subject is to provide students the knowledge about chemical methods for the ceramic powder synthesis and advanced methods of forming and drying in ceramic bodies’ production. This will allow design and production of ceramic products with desired properties. ; During experimental work students acquire skills for ceramic powders synthesis and properties determination. By writing seminars students are trained to literature data analysis in order to prepare for experimental work. ;
      The outcomeBy successful completion of this course student will be able to use knowledge for critical analysis of new trends in the field of ceramic materials and create new materials.
      Contents
      Contents of lecturesThe course introduces the students to advanced ceramic processes before firing, applied in technical ceramics production: chemical processes for ceramic powders preparation (processes in liquid and gas phase), which enable production of monodisperse powders with fine paricles. It is analiyed aldso advanced methods of forming and drying in ceramic bodies’ production.
      Contents of exercisesA powder synthesis by one chemical method of synthesis; determination of morphology and surface properties of the powder. ;
