The goalAcquiring basic concepts of how to represent electrically measured data. Learning about modern acqusition systems, and data analysis systems. Getting knowledge about the use of measurement systems (A/D and D/A converters, sensors, filters) in measuring non-electric quantities through electric measurements.
The outcomeInterpretation and use of scientific notation and engineering units in describing physical quantities. Present data and other information in graphical and tabular form. Use of acquisition and data analysis for engineering systems. Use new technology and resources to design and perform experiments for engineering analysis. Work in teams for experiment design, data acquisition and data analysis. Summarize and present experimental design, implementation, and data in written format.
Contents of lecturesScientific notation, data analysis and error in experiment. Graphical and tabular representation od data. Software package ORIGIN. Electrical circuits and measurements. Data acquisition systems. Software package LabView. Measurements of linear dimensions. Measurements of time. Measurements of force, moment and pressure. Measurements of temperature. Dynamical measurements and process control.
Contents of exercisesRepresent measured data. Random noise and noise filtration. Measurement of temperature. Measurement of pressure. Measurement of flow. Real-time measurement and control system.
