The recognition of the possible health hazards in the work environment; the evaluation of hazards, the occurrence of harmful agents in the workplace, while also accounting for environmental protection. The close link between occupational and environmental health is emphasized, since the prevention of pollution from industrial sources, through adequate handling and disposal of hazardous effluent and waste, should be started at the workplace level.
