    The goalAcquiring knowledge of English for specific purposes in the disciplines studied at the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy, developing language competencies within the discipline-related discourse.
    The outcomeStudents acquire competencies necessary for understanding and using English for specific purposes in their disciplines. They are familiar with discipline-related terminology, able to use literature purposefully, write, understand and competently participate in discussions on discipline-related topics in accordance with their knowledge of the field.
    Contents
    Contents of lecturesThe course syllabus introduces students to the features of the English language for specific purposes in their field of study. Authentic academic texts are used for the purpose of developing reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills, revision of particular grammar items, and aquisition of terminology characteristic of disciplinary discourse.
    Contents of exercisesStudents improve language skills through a variety of lexical and syntactic exercises, and discussions.
