      The goalCourse is realted to basic understaning of welding process and weldding joints (metallurgical background, different welding processes, types and selection of filler materials, etc). Understanding of cconcept of ability of one material to be welded sucsessfully - weldability. Concept of crack initiation during welding, types of cracks, methods of identification and testing. Quality control of welded joints.

      Contents of lecturesIntroduction. Classification of welding procesess. Processes with melting. Processes without melting. Electric arc. Formation of weld pool. Types of filler material. Principles of selection of filler material.Heat affected zone. Understanding the concept of ability of one material to be welded sucsessfully - weldability. Concept of crack initiation during welding, types of cracks, methods of identification and testing. Quality control of welded joints.
      Contents of exercisesMacrostructure of welded joints. Microstructure of welded joints. Testing of mechanical properties of welded joints. Nondestructive testing
