The goalThe course has been designed to provide a comprehensive review of the textile fiber structure, that is a basis for independent research in the field of chemistry and technology of fiber and textile engineering. Students acquire knowledge on different methods for structural analysis, and develop ability for a critical analysis of existing knowledge and prediction of fiber behaviour in processing and exploitation.
The outcomeStudents will be able to use acquired knowledge about fiber structure as a theoretical and practical basis in scientific research and professional work in the field of materials and textile engineering. Students will acquire knowledge on different methods of structural analysis, and develop ability for a critical analysis of existing knowledge and prediction of fiber behaviour in processing and exploitation. Also, students will be able to conduct research, design the project tasks and make strategic decisions.
      Contents
Contents of lecturesCourse provides fundamental knowledge about fiber structure and structure property relationships. Course covers: structure of fiber-forming polymers; elements of crystal structure, molecular and fine structure of fibers, surface structure and fiber morphology, relationsheep between structure and properties.
