The goalThe aim is to familiarize students with the most advanced technological methods of making parts by: superalloys, and reactive metal implants, composite metal foam castings, monocrystals obtained by directed crystallization, etc.
The outcomeStudents will be able to recognize the value and quality of the product obtained by special technological procedures and to assess the usage and commercial justification of the possibility of making the same.
      Contents
Contents of lecturesMaking castings of superalloys. Development of implants, aerospace and other parts of the Ti-alloys and other reactive metals. Melting and pouring of the reactive metals. Composite Materials. Мonocrystals obtained by directed crystallization. Demonstration of software packages for the simulation of casting and prototyping. Future technologies - making parts of: metal foam, the direct deposition of metals from semi-solid player slates, etc.
Contents of exercisesPractical lessons are not anticipated within this course.
