The goalIntroduction to the principles, devices, and technologies in the fields of surface engineering of metals, ceramics, polymers and composites.
The outcomeStudent would be able to successfully choose the technology to meet the required surface quality. He/She would also trained to properly select the appropriate device, reactors and / or industrial furnaces.
      Contents
Contents of lecturesThe course provides the necessary knowledge to understand the surface properties of materials, thermodynamics of phase boundary surface, surface stress of solids and liquids, absorption, phase equilibrium and contact angles. Surface coating and joining processes will be treated as the most important processes of surface modification. Typical examples in the field of aero, mechanical, electrical and chemical industries.
