The goalThe course aims to master basic and modern knowledge in knitted textile structure production, and familiarization with the basic weaves and structural parameters of various knitted fabrics.
The outcomeStudents acquire extensive knowledge about production technologies and general knowledge about the structure and properties of knitted fabrics. Students are trained to design knitted fabrics based on the technological parameters of machines and knits.
    Contents
Contents of lecturesThe course covers the basic parameters of the structure and characteristics of different types of knitted fabrics and, in connection with that, important geometric and mathematical models of knits. The course also includes basic working principles, functional elements, and mechanisms of different types of machines for the production of knitted fabrics (warp and weft knitting). The basic weft and warp knitting patterns are included.
Contents of exercisesCalculation of technological parameters of weft- and warp-knitting machines. Determination of the basic structural parameters of knitted fabrics.
