The goalExploring and mastering various stages of production of biotech and the whole technological process through theory and practice, along with carrying out the calculation (material, energy balances, stoichiometry of the product, process kinetics) and the evaluation of the quality of the product produced biotechnological production.
The outcomeThrough the course the student acquire the theoretical basis, assumes the necessary practical experience, which is important for future work on industrial production and management of biotechnology.
      Contents
Contents of lecturesThe content of the course consists of theoretical and laboratory classes covering subjects Microbiology, Row materials for biotechnology, Food biotechnology, Enzyme engineering, Chemical biotechnology and Pharmaceutical biotechnology. In the framework of lectures will explore the basics related to a specific technology and necessary to perform laboratory exercises.
Contents of exercisesIt is divided into several areas: •The stoichiometry of biological processes • Enzymatic hydrolysis of starch • Ethanol production (raw material preparation, fermentation, separation products) • Immobilization of enyzme and cells • Determination of proteins ( milk and whey) and separation by gel electrophoresis • Analysis of raw material quality parameters in food biotechnology (malt / molasses, whey) • The production of fermented milk products • Microbiological and chemical quality analysis of food biotechnology products (beer, wine, vinegar) • Anaerobic digestion and biogas production
