The goalThe aim of the course is to master the fundamental and contemporary knowledge in the field of manufacture of linear fibrous assemblies. Students are familiarized with the specific structural characteristics of yarns depending on technological operation applied.
The outcomeAcquisition of complete knowledge of various manufacturing technologies and a general understanding of the structure and properties of yarns. Students are trained to design yarns having particular characteristics (fineness, twist) as well as the technological parameters of yarn production according to given yarn properties.
      Contents
Contents of lecturesThe course covers basic structural parameters and characteristics of various fibrous linear structures. Basic working principles, functional elements, and mechanisms of different types of machines involved in the four most common short fiber spinning systems are considered. The non-conventional technological procedures for producing various yarns are described, and the specificities of the structure of such "special" yarns are analyzed.
Contents of exercisesCalculation of the technological parameters of machines in different spinning systems. Determination of the basic parameters of linear textile structures.
